The Republicans are slashing federal government jobs, grants, and contracts to privatize the government, thereby lining the pockets of themselves and their billionaire friends at the expense of the American people.

  • Inflation is increasing, with the core PCE rising by 2.8% in February of 2025 (Source).

  • Most economists say that Trump's tariffs will hurt the country by raising the costs of goods. (Source).

  • Yale University Budget Lab predicts that Trump's tariffs would increase inflation by a full percentage point, growth would fall by half a percentage point, and the average household would lose about $1,600 in disposable income. (Source).

  • Trump’s new 25% tariffs on all vehicle and parts imports will hurt average Americans by immediately increasing the average price of cars by $6,000 to $7,000, making cars even less affordable.

  • Trump’s tax cuts will result in a $4 trillion deficit (Source).

  • On it’s official website, DOGE states that it’s saved $105 billion, but the math from what they’ve publicized only adds up to $18.6 billion, and they’ve avoided questions about how they calculated the additional $86 billion. (Source)

  • The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) claims to have made cumulative savings of approximately $115 billion through mass layoffs of government agency workforce, cancellation of government contracts, and “fraud reduction.” However, the Trump Administration's policies would require the addition of $11 trillion to the national debt.

  • Trump’s plans to cut federal jobs are illogical, as federal government employees only make up 4% of the budget. This is nothing more than a cheap trick by the administration to ensure there is more space to continue their shady practices and fewer people to challenge them. If there is no one to hold expenses accountable, such as the billions of dollars in payments to United Health, SpaceX, drug companies, or tax manipulators, then these backroom deals will continue under the radar and unchallenged.

  • Thousands of federal workers who were fired during Trump's and Musk's crusade to dismantle federal agencies were recently rehired following court orders by two federal judges. However, many of these workers remain in professional limbo, as they have been placed on administrative leave.

  • During Trump’s campaign, he promised to deport 15-20 million undocumented immigrants in his second term. In Trump’s first week of office, ICE hit a record high of 1,200 deportations in a day. With 1,200 arrests being a record high for the agency, there is logistically no way for Trump to deport 15 million immigrants over a 4-year term. If ICE agents were to continue making at least 1,200 arrests a day, that would be less than 440,000 arrests in a year, making it impossible for Trump to fulfill his campaign promise.

  • If Trump is attempting to deport over 10 million immigrants, there will need to be a significant increase in funding for immigration enforcement agencies. A budget estimate conducted by The Wall Street Journal estimates Trump’s deportation plan will cost almost  $162 billion, a number that surpasses most federal agencies, including the Department of Education and the Department of Defense.

  • Reportedly, the IRS is close to reaching a deal with ICE to hand over tax data in order to aid the mass deportation promises of the Trump Administration. Stealing the tax data of individuals suspected of being undocumented is a slippery slope. This means ICE could search for and find the tax data of whoever they deem as a suspected migrant, this can be anyone, even American citizens.

  • They continue to spend $150 billion on the border while Trump states that the border is closed. The private prison companies have already announced a $1 billion contract with the government to reopen immigrant detention facilities, with another $350 billion being allocated to interior enforcement. This is an attempt to line the pockets of private prisons, such as CoreCivic, contributing to the expansion of the industrial prison complex.

  • Trump’s order blocking birthright citizenship to children born in the US to at least one undocumented immigrant parent is unconstitutional and illegal.

    • In February 2025, a federal judge in Boston was the 4th federal judge to block Trump’s executive order. A statement by the attorneys general of 18 states, quoted, “President Trump may believe that he is above the law, but today’s preliminary injunction sends a clear message: He is not a king, and he cannot rewrite the Constitution with the stroke of a pen.”  (Source

  • The Trump administration has now placed an indefinite halt on green card adjustment applications for asylum seekers and refugees, closing yet another pathway to legalization for thousands and discriminating against people who are eligible for refuge. (Source)

    • "This sweeping and indefinite stop on green card processing is yet another attempt for this administration to baselessly paint all immigrants as a national security risk," National Immigrant Justice Center Director of Policy Azadeh Erfani told Newsweek.

  • According to the White House Trump's anti-immigration orders “are not used to incentivize or support illegal immigration.”

    • Fact: Undocumented immigrants have always been ineligible from receiving federal public assistance benefits. According to the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, undocumented immigrants contribute an estimated $11.74 billion to state and local economies each year. However, undocumented immigrants are not eligible for many of the federal or state benefits that their tax dollars help fund.

  • The Trump administration did not reap any lessons from its first term. During his first term, Trump's zero-tolerance family separation policy drained federal resources that could have been better utilized to prosecute drug smuggling and other criminal activities. This instead ripped families apart that have still not been reunited. (Source)
