RELIEF ACT

The Resolving Extended Limbo for Immigrant Employees and Families (RELIEF) Act. introduced by Dick Durbin (D-IL) in the Senate and Donna Shalala (D-FL) in the House. This bill would make great improvements in the visa system and take steps to keep families together. Learn more >

DIGNITY FOR DETAINED IMMIGRANTS ACT OF 2019

Introduced by Cory Booker (D-NJ) in the Senate and Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Adam Smith (D-WA) in the House of Representatives. This bill would push back on the Trump administration's efforts to detain immigrants indefinitely without access to a bond hearing. Learn more >

MILITARY FAMILY PAROLE IN PLACE ACT

Introduced by Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) in the Senate. This bill would safeguard a program that shields undocumented family members of US troops from deportation. The Trump administration is threatening to end the discretionary Parole in Place program, which began under President George W. Bush. Learn more >

A NEW WAY FORWARD ACT

introduced in the House of Representatives by the following Democratic members: Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04), Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), and Karen Bass (CA-37). This bill would restore due process to the immigration system and disrupt the prison to deportation pipeline. Learn more >

NO BAN

Introduced by Judy Chu (D-CA) in the House and Chris Coons (D-DE) in the Senate, the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants (NO BAN) Act repeals the three versions of President Trump’s Muslim ban, strengthens the Immigration and Nationality Act to prohibit discrimination on the basis of religion, and restores the separation of powers by limiting overly broad executive authority to issue future travel bans.
