My husband was deported 5 years ago. We hired a lawyer. When we went to court the lawyer
decided it was easier to have voluntary deportation with out consulting it with
us. A month before his date to leave the
U.S.
we went to another lawyer and she took around $3000 from us and
didn’t do anything. I was 9 months pregnant
at that time and the immigration officer didn’t think it was important to stop the
deportation. My daughter was born 2 weeks
later, of course my husband wasn’t with me. I have been working non stop to support my 2 kids.
It’s very hard to me a single mother and
to have my husband far away. We go to Tijuana to visit him and after
a couple of days with him we each go our own ways. Its sad to believe that one person has the power
and authority to separate a family. My kids
don’t have a dad and I don’t have my husband to share the good moments with our
kids.
