STEP 1: WRITE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES

Each year, approximately 65,000 young adults without legal status graduate from high school. With the DREAM Act, they would finally have a chance to gain legal status by going to college or joining the military.

Juan Gomez of Miami, Florida is one of these young adults. He graduated 14th in his class of 780, earning an “A” in all but one class in high school. He was planning on attending Miami Dade College’s Honors Program this fall and was working two jobs to help provide for his tuition and family expenses. Now his family is being deported.

There are thousands of Juan’s out there. As Americans, we need to be rewarding the actions of hard working young adults. These people have grown up in America. They are our next generation of leaders.

Send a letter to your Senator or Congressperson now and tell them to enact legislation to support the DREAM Act.
