When we woke up after the election, we were horrified that a candidate who embraced mass deportations, racial profiling, and religious tests for entry to our country had been elected as our next president. Immigrants' List stands in solidarity with those frightened of a Donald Trump presidency, and we vow to spend the next 4 years fighting his agenda of hate.
That being said, we did come out of the election with some important victories for the cause of immigration reform all around the country. In Illinois, Tammy Duckworth, a daughter of immigrants and reform champion, became the first Thai-American to be elected to the United States Senate. In Nevada, Catherine Cortez Masto was elected to the Senate, becoming the first Latina to serve in the body.
These victories are why we're not giving up -- we intend to spend every moment of the next four years mobilizing against Donald Trump and his anti-immigrant allies. We're going to need your help - this fight is too big to take on alone.
We thank you for all of your support over the course of this election cycle, and your continued support over the past decade. We hope you can join us in continuing the fight.
